I'm Reading Postcards IN THE GARDEN Triptych

I'm Reading Postcards In the Garden Triptych

Hello little creative friends!
Do you have a garden?
Do you spend time in a garden?

We have a garden, here at the ranch, and it has a sign over the gate that says "Garden Never Closed".

That's because there is always something growing there and even more important there are lots of chair for sitting to read a book or ready postcards like the one in the vintage garden shown here.

It began with blank pieces of wood that hubby hinged for my to create the triptych!

Next came the tissue paper collage effect learned from Tim Holtz.

Then color was added using Ranger Alcohol Inks.

Adding the "trellis" was a bit of a challenge with the hinges! And then came the texture paste using an old stencil that I had from years ago when doing a wall!  It's Plaid with a design by Anna Griffin.  I forgot to get a picture of it all white and almost indecipherable.  I had my doubts about figuring out how to paint it! It was painted with several things... Silks Acrylics, Inca Gold, Distress Paint and Pitt Pens.

The butterfly was pasted onto cardstock and painted to make 3D!!

The "greenhouse" was part of the Tim Holtz tissue paper.  It just needed some Pitt Pens and Silks Acrylics to spruce it up!

Heheheh - love the little postcard.  I found it on some Prima paper - Something Blue Collection - cut, paste, then added a Tim Holtz rub-one and stamp too!

The other side of the triptych was done with:

Tim Holtz Craft-core - Shattered Paper
Webster's Pages Paper
Stampers Anonymous Flower Garden CMS215
Jolee's Boutique dragonflies
Prima flowers
Beads and Bangles for the Knobs!
Faber-Castille Pitt Pens
Silks Acrylic Glaze
Ranger Distress Paint

Oh and the back of the flower has some chiffon type fabric as well as the center too!!

Thanks bunches for stopping by to spend time with me in my garden! Hugs j

Thank you to Stampers Anonymous and Dina Wakley for your generosity to us for this challenge. I would LOVE to have a Dina set.  HOPING!!

My post was inspired by May Flowers because they are on both sides of my In The Garden Triptych! And because it has done nothing in May but rain and flood in Texas so creating May flowers was a wonderful thing to create a bit of sunshine!!!  j.
