CREATIVITY Typology Acrostic!

Hello to all of you creativity keepers out there! Hope your day is going well.

One of the fun parts of doing this canvas was that I was able to incorporate several of the challenges for my fav blogs with a lot of different phases and techniques combined to make a whole! It took some planning though!

The upscale items used: local newspaper, flowers that I clipped from an old wedding dress and the thick twine that was used to embroider the flowers in place. Plus I love that my hubby's finished crossword puzzle with his writing on it is preserved too!!

I hope you find all the little aspects of this CREATIVITY TYPOLOGY interesting. It's all about SPRING and spring is definitely here already in Texas. You can tell by how fast the grass is growing - dear me!!! And the beautiful bluebonnets are giving us a fleeting glance - they don't stay long but they are just so gorgeous while they are here.

In doing this project... I learned a lot - that's for sure. I did several of the letters over more than once... and one of them... well, lets just say I would be embarrassed to tell you how many times I redid it!! Enjoy!

It began by covering the entire 2 ft x 2 ft canvas with newspaper! Our local paper is so small that it barely covered the canvas. Some of the headlines were "oops" inappropriate too! And of course, hubby works the crossword every day so it's there too - completely filled in! LOTS of Typography of different types for the first layer.

After adding several layers to the canvas of paint and paper scraps... I began the letters.

Then I began the letters. Dear me... you would not believe all the different products and techniques that were used for them.

Here are a few:

Embellishments

Chipboard

The "E" and "Y" were done with the same type of technique so I included them in the same picture!

The next letter was RAINBOWS!! Love the promises of rainbows.

And here are some close-ups of all the letters. It would be hard for me to say which one I like best. They were all so fun to do and each described in a different way what CREATIVITY means to me!

Happy Birthday SONSHINE Gal Greeting Card

Today is my best girl friend's birthday and YES - I made her a card.

Years ago - we adopted nicknames for each other and her nickname is very prominent in this design!

My goal was to have spring colors that were vivid and elegant but with embellishments that were more delicate and happy.

The background was a gelli print that I made on my gelli plate over the holidays with acrylic paint. I chose this print because of the sunshine yellow color for the sun and the green for the flowers.

My friend loves purple so the card needed a layer to include that color! It doesn't look at all like it did when I started - of course. It was torn and cut into pieces. There is no way to tell now but I used two stamps on it: Kaisercraft Numerals at the bottom and Prima Finnabair Seamstress stamp. You can see some of the numerals in the strip on the left coming from the sun - which is fun!!! Those used to all be on the bottom of the purple!!!

Both the sentiments on the card came from Hero Arts CL 129 Anytime Messages.

The paper strips are from the purple background and from a gold gelli print. The paper strip that has the spread sunshine stamp on it was a piece from the yellow and green background after it was cut to fit the card. I had fun slashing strips!!!

I embossed the center of the sun and some of the stripes with Vintage Champagne WOW embossing powder.

Before I added the fabric embellishments I used Lindy's glitz spritz Yellow Rose of Texas to give the entire card a sparkle - just love that look.

The flower petals came from an old wedding dress that I clipped off all the lovely lace and flowers. And believe it or not - I saved all the thread that was holding them because is was thick and rippled - so that is what I used at the bottom to represent the "foliage"!!! The stem of one flower is a chiffon type burgundy ribbon.

The crystal pearl flourish is from Prima - Say It With Crystals Iridescent Ivory. The sentiment has dots of Ranger Liquid Pearls in Orchid. My friend enjoys pearls so it seems appro for her card!

Artist Trading Post

If you haven't seen all the wonderful creativity that is produced by the Artists Trading Posts group - you should. It has been so inspirational too me.

The new "trading post" challenge is so fun - so vintage! Here is the link - why not try it??!!! I am.

So of course, I want to participate in their spring give-away.

Here is the picture of all the wonderful items they will be passing onto us. So exciting!!!

I'm wishing for some Color Bloom Sprays - haven't tried them yet - so would love a tutorial on them, of course! But anything would be SUPER FINE for me... I don't have anything listed here. But I might really soon!!!

And the same for learning... I will soak up tutorials on any subject you present and be grateful for the opportunity to have the knowledge. Anything to do with the various types of paint, ink, gelatos, etc is very helpful to me. But I have soooooooo much to learn - it's all appreciated.

March - is it March??? No... now it's almost April. In fact, I was so slow making this March tag that it is already April Fools Day overseas!!!! April - dear me.... how can that be??? FAST - we are moving so fast!!

I enjoyed making this tag following the instructions. It's far from perfect but I learned a lot along the way. It's not ornate and fun as Tim's March tag either. Somehow I am rather enjoying it's simplicity though.

My best girl friend loves butterflies, loves to play with numbers, loves anything girlie like flowers and sparkles and enjoys these colors. Dare I say... this tag makes me think of her. :)

I'm soooo excited that I now have three tags under my belt. Only nine more to go. Definitely looking forward to the challenges.
