Shall We Dance? Snowfolks Canvas, Crafty Sentiments, DecoArt Media and TTCRD

Hello from Joi@RR!

SHALL WE DANCE??
In the snow???
This little snow couple is ready to tap it out!!!

Not this Texan... brrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
But I know a lot of you snow folks out there would
dance in the cold until your feet were numb :)
In my day...
I might to the Texas Two Step until mine were numb!!!

This project was done on a 8 x 10 canvas board
which was mounted on cedar.

First item was to find the right size lid or bowl
to make a circle for my snow globe and sketch!

For the 'table' I used a stencil entitled
"Woodgrain" from DecoArt Americana Decor.
The snow globe was outlined with a
Faber-Castell artists Pitt Pen.

Marking around where the digi image would be...
I just began painting with metallic silver and white gesso.
No plan - just light and loosely adding the background.
For the "table" I used a stencil entitled
'Woodgrain' from DecoArt American Decor.

After adding the digi image with Matte Medium,
it was time to make them come to life!
Keeping it a bit monochromatic,

The darling couple were painted with Translucent
White, Prussian Blue Hue, Metallic Silver and
Snow Writer Dimensional Paint.

When everything was dry, the snow globe
was covered with DecoArt Media Liquid Glass
and Glamour Dust Iced Crystals.

It was fun to add a little extra texture with
the Pixelated Stencil by DecoArt Americana

The words were added with the wonderful graphite
transfer paper - it leaves such a nice imprint.

After all was completed, the canvas was varnished with
DecoArt Media Satin Varnish. It was then mounted
on a heavy glitter paper from my stash. I cut the
flowers on her bonnet from the same paper!

Here are a few close-ups.

Lots of fun texture!!!

Rick St. Dennis HAUNTED COTTAGE Canvas TTCRD & DecoArt Media

Hello from Joi@RR!

It's that time of year... All Hallow's Eve!!!
HALLOWEEN!
Please feel free to visit my HAUNTED COTTAGE.
The cauldron is boiling and the party is on!

This project was done on a 14 x 18 wrapped canvas.

Marking around where the digi image would be...
I just began painting. No plan - just light
and loosely adding the background.

After adding the digi image with Matte Medium,
then the real work on the cottage and background began.

The WONDERFUL cottage image is from:

I love Rick's work because he is a fabulous artist
and he has such an incredible variety of images.
For the cottage, I pulled and tugged on it a
bit to make it look just a tad scary.

And on we go with a few more steps...

Adding Fluid acrylic colors to the cottage, trees
and the crumbling fence line was fun. Afterwards,
out came the crackle glaze to give some texture.

Here you see the crackle texture on the cottage,
trees and fence posts was painted with Antiquing
Cream. After drying, rub off with a damp cloth
and the cracks/crevices show amazingly well.

The finished cottage!

And a few close-ups.

There is a skeleton too. Can you find it???!!!
