Big Eyed Owl Watercolor Card: Oddball Art, DecoArt

Howdy from Joi@RR!

This project was done on a 8 x 10 watercolor paper.

I have been in love with DecoArt Metallic Lustre
paints for a long time. In this project I am
using them as watercolors - so fun!!

Add your paints randomly for your background.

When dry... cover front and back of your paper with
Matt Medium. It will protect your background
and help keep your paper from curling.

When your paper is dry, trace your
image using Americana Transfer Paper.

Paint your image.
This is completely done with Metallic Lustres.

After the Lustre was dry, I added Translucent White
Fluid Acrylics to make the feathers more intricate.
I also added Carbon Black for the edges and eyes.

In this photo you can see some of the
INCREDIBLE Metallic Lustre Shimmer.

ABSTRACT GRUNGY FLOWERS, Inktense, Pattie's Creations, TTCRD

Howdy from Joi@RR!
I've been "Thinking of You"!

This project was done on a 18 x 24 wrapped canvas.

Step by Step Instructions

Just have fun spreading your paint and making
a background that makes you feel happy!
I used white gesso combined with
DecoArt fluid acrylics and spray misters.

Finished background.

Add your digi-images with Matte Medium.

My digi was only half of the flower so I
printed multiples, cut and paste to make full flowers!
I love it that digi-images are so versatile.

Do a wash (add some water to your gesso)
over the entire canvas. This makes your
image blend nicely with your background.

After the canvas is totally dry, add Texture
Sand paste to the inside of your flowers.

Using a pallet knife add modeling paste -
helter skelter - to the petals of your flowers.

Outline all your images with charcoal.
I used Derwent Inktense Blocks but you
could use any type of product to outline.
I was going for a grungy abstract look!

Continue painting - adding white gesso, translucent
white fluid acrylics until you get the "look" you desire.

Trace your sentiment with DecoArt Transfer Paper
and paint with Carbon Black paint.

Below you see the sentiment ready for tracing
as well as some of the left over flowers
that were not needed to make the "whole".

Here's a close-up look at the grungy texture.

TIME to Step into 2018!

Happy New Year from Joi@RR!

Stepping out of 2017 time into 2018...
just like the White Rabbit might have done
in your Wonderland dreams!!!

This project was done on a 8 x 8 wood disc by Walnut Hollow.

Step by Step Instructions

Using a compass, place some circles where you
would like your clock to go. Then using Matt Medium
place your digi image onto your substrate.

Put your stencil in place and cover with crackle paste.
This stencil is "Made to Measure" by DecoArt/Andy Skinner.

So fun to see the crackle when dry!!!

Between the clock numbers add Texture Sand Paste.
This will help add dimension to your clock so
it appears your image is stepping though.

After the texture is totally dry, mask your clock
and rabbit before stamping your background.
Stamp Set: Little Yellow Bicycle: Banners

Begin painting your project.

You can add a few more paper pieces if desired.
Here are some Wonderland type items that
were added to the background - inside the clock.

Continue painting, add gloss varnish and
it's finished!

Products Used:
Lots of DecoArt Media products
Dynasty Brushes
Stamps and Stencil listed above
