Hello to all my sweet artistic friends!

I really enjoy intuitive painting and would love to do more of it - it's just so fun.

However - you never, ever know what will come of it - or at least I don't!! And sometimes you end up with wild and crazy things like this one.

I saw the face of the girl with the yellow hair first...and then one face after another popped out!  I pretty much left the background as it was and just outlined and doodled to make the girls come to life. So here is my funky artsy ladies at their tea party!!!

And here is how it all started!!!

On the background I used just whatever seemed fun.
Whipped Spackle - Faber-Castell
Glass Bead Gel - Golden
Pebeo Studio Acrylics (iridescent for shimmer)
DecoArt Americana

After I smeared all that on the background I covered it with plastic wrap and left it to dry.

To accent the ladies and the peacocks I used:
Big Brush Pens, Faber-Castell
Smaller - Pitt Pens,  Faber-Castell
Silks Acrylics, ColourArte
Ranger Liquid Pearls

There are also several fussy cut butterflies at the party!

It is a 16x20 painting on canvas.

I wanted to share this with a group on face book that I really enjoy called A Pleasant Escape. Everyone is so upbeat and posts lovely art there. This week we had a art prompt for intuitive painting.

As always, thanks bunches for stopping by.  I haven't posted as much because I was working on a 30x30 canvas for a fundraiser tonight. It's finally done - whew!!!

Have a great weekend. Hugs. j.

Just wonderful, Joi - such an inspired way to create... I love what your eye found in that stunning rainbow background, and it's wonderful seeing your peacock tea party come to life.

Thanks for sending me your blog link from FAA so I could learn all about your techniques! It's great to meet you Joi, now I know your first name too. I am fascinated with the process. Now I must go look up the "big brush pens" that I don't think I'd ever seen at art supply spots.( I'm sure theyre just not been where I was looking, because I've got Faber Castell products myself and I'm betting I probably looked right at them :-0 !) You do a lot with mixed media that falls together so effortlessly, its amazing! It sure sounds like you are having a Blast at the same time you're pouring on all the creative juices! :) Appreciate the lessons in the process, thank you ! Pamela ...aka Artography by Pamela :-D
