Poetic Live Life, Scrap Around The World Layout

Hello to all my sweet artistic friends.
Hope you had a nice weekend!

This is my take on the Scrap Around the World

September 2015 Mood Board by Lilibleu.

Here are some of the products I used in my layout.

I began with two 12 x 12" papers:
Brown Background - Fancy Pants Designs, Merry Little Christmas
Blue Floral - Craft & You Designs, Spring Garden

I added DecoArt Crackle Paste with an old stencil that has absolutely no markings left on it because I enjoy it so much so I can't tell you who designed it. It's clear plastic - small and narrow.

After the crackle paste was dry, Ranger Distress Ink in walnut was used to accent the crackle as well as around the exterior of the page.

Although the beautiful paper had some small writing it just seemed like I needed more!  I used Paper Inspirations, 1st Corinthians Background Script stamp with Versamark Ink. Then embossed it with Angel Wings Mauve by Lindy's Stamp Gang

Working on chipboard pieces - painting with my Faber-Castell Big Brush Marker and then adding DecoArt Crackle Paint was fun!  I believe some of the chipboard is from FabScraps but not marked.

They turned out perfectly! I added Silks Acrylic Glaze, Azurite and Black Emerald to accent the cracks and then some Ranger Antique Linen Distress Stain lightly over the top so they would match the stenciling better.  I also added some of the Silks Glaze in those two colors to the paper - just here and there. There is also a piece of lace in this picture that I decided might add some pizzazz!!!

It was interesting finding a way to get my feather - which I found here on the ranch! - to stand up but be flat.  Zots did the trick.

Neat picture of the background - it is so lovely in person.

I included some books tied with twin... they are behind the feather so a bit hard to see! But they do match the mood board!

The stamp and other ephemera are from:
Idea-ology Thrift Shop Vellum.

The lovely black cursive rub one is from:
Idea-ology Remnant Rubs Elements.

There is Ranger copper stickles on the rose as well as some faded jeans Distress Ink also by Ranger.

There are some little filigreed accent balls inside the colored threads here and there too.

I included this picture so you could see the DecoArt crackle glaze I used on the scroll.  I had not used it before. It worked super fine!

I just had to include one of these adorable flowers with lettering I received from a friend!

My vintage couple looks very prosperous and out for a day of fun together. They seemed to fit the mood board sentiment well!   Looks like they are out on the weekend - taking time to live... but he must work or be prosperous because they are dressed very well!

It was a fun piece to do because I really love the Scrap Around the World September Mood Board. Thanks bunches for the opportunity to submit my take on your lovely challenge.
Hugs, j.

Joi, this is such s treat to see! I totally love the vintage genre and this layout is excellent! I love the mixed media touches you have done here. The stenciling with the crackle paste looks amazing! The brown tones are exquisite and scream "VINTAGE!" Your added crackled touches of the flourishes are perfection. Love the other little embellishments, too and that vintage photo is so cool! Love your interpretation of the couple. And...I wanted to thank you for your always so positive and encouraging comments. You rock!

Hi Joi! I had to come over to your blog after reading your sweet comments on my blog. :) And I was curious about that blurred picture you talked about. It looks great, vintage is vintage and not always perfect. I think I saw a comment from you one time on my Youtube channel, but I am not sure. Anyway: thanks for taking the time to see my layouts. I feel honered . x
