Irish Luck Unexplained! Acrylics on Canvas

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!

Have you ever found a four leaf clover?

When I was a child, I literally hunted for hours to find them and then saved them between pages of books!  My 13 yr old granddaughter didn't know there was such a thing - wow.

Do you believe in "the luck of the Irish"?
They say that it's an 'unexplained' phenomena.

Today I have forever preserved a four leaf clover using Andy Skinner's Stampendous stamp set.
Do you think that my luck may change for the better??!!!

Using an 8x10 canvas panel that previously held some left over green and white paint...I added a bit more color along the way.

Begin by stamping the designs and words onto tissue paper.

I thought it would be fun for the 4th leaf to be green/white and the other 3 leaves of the clover to be black/white.

Then begin laying out your design for the project.

The stamped images were added with Matte Medium.

The heart came from the center of one of Andy's flying creatures!

In order to give the center of the shamrock a bit of pizzazz, a swirl of opalescent mother-of-pearl by Kaisercraft was added.

Remember how much I love my DecoArt Glamour Dust?
The Ice Crystal was added all over - of course!!

Getting close to being done, and then I thought... hmmmm...
the circles in the Dare2BArtzy Totally Tracy Textures would simulate the circles in the center of the shamrock.  Out came the Totally Tracy stamps which were stamped right onto the canvas.

Here are the products used:

DecoArt Media Mister Yellow Green
DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics: Translucent White, Green Gold
DecoArt Media Matte Medium
DecoArt Media Tinting Base
DecoArt Glamour Dust Iced Crystal

Unexplained and Handle with Care

Totally Tracy Textures

Archival Ink and Faber-Castell Pitt Pens too!

And a few close-ups..."showin' of the green"!

Hope you can see some of the shimmer of the Glamour Dust!

Once again... Happy St. Patty's Day.
Sending you wishes for a lucky day!! Xj.

I remember those days well sifting through a patch of clover to hopefully find a four leafed one. Yours is beautiful and I love how you've made the fourth leaf a different colour to emphasise the unusualness of it. Happy St. Patrick's Day Joi xxx

Joi, you are so clever! This St. Paddy's day piece is awesome! Love how you've converted hearts into the petals of the four leaf clover. So clever! Only YOU would think of this...and creating this in your amazing style is just awesome. Love it!
I also wanted to say a huge "THANK YOU" for your always always uplifting and fabulous comments. It takes a lot of time to write from the heart; not just leave a "that's pretty." in the comments section. I truly appreciate your time and your thoughts. You are an amazing person, Joi. I am so happy that we're friends. True rays of sunshine like you are few and far between. Enjoy your weekend, my friend.

Joi, this is such a fun piece! I love the colors and yes, I can see the shimmer! Great use of the hearts, one unique to the others, to make the lucky clover! Brings back memories of hunting for them...my daughter just looks down and says, "Oh look a 4 leaf clover!" She's very good at finding them! What totally rocked my socks on this is the repetition of the circles from the clover circle. A perfect addition! Well, I have really enjoyed my coffee time with you this morning! I hope you don't think I'm a heel for saving my visits like this! I still don't know how to see if I have a notification for what is it--Google plus?? But I think I prefer seeing your work in "batches" like this, especially when my computer is behaving and I have the time, which it was, and I did! Sending love and hugs your way, and lots of luck; no, make that blessings!

Lovely card, Joi. I also remember searching through the clover looking for that infamous 4-leaf clover. I think it was when I was barefoot during my search and stepped on a bee that made me stop looking for them for awhile. Now, I just wear shoes. LOL Funny what you remember from childhood. Happy St. Patty's Day to you, too!

Really gorgeous artwork Joi. So much detail on close inspection and such a clever and creative way to make the clover too.

So jealous. I have looked for 4 leafed clovers and to this day have never found one. How amazing would it be to see one in real life! And now I can say I have seen one because of this spectacular design you created. The contest of the 4th leaf with the others is amazeballs and so unique. What a a wonderful and titilating experience you have shared. Totes awesome sauce and fantabulous dearie! Hugz to you muffin! ~Niki

This is brilliant Joi! I just adore the bright fresh spring green background, what an uplifting palette! Love how you used a heart shape to make the clover petals and the pearl rings in the centre is amazing! I used to love to search for four leaf clovers. My brothers and I would scour the yard for hours, and sometimes we even found one, although most of the time we ended up with a frog or a ladybug. lol. hugs :)

I've been MIA here at your blog, but just saw a comment you'd left at Pamellia's, so zipped over to enjoy your fantastic lucky shamrock. Although I don't do a lot of the art that you do so well, it's always fascinating to read the process of creation in your amazing projects. This shamrock is just sure to bring lots of good luck (and many readers to your blog!). Hope you've been well. TFS
