Hello from Joi@RR!
Just a touch of Christmas...
Christmas Mermaid on Ice!
Through the Craft Room Door Challenge for August 15.
Using a Crafts and Me Digi Image: Christmas Eve Mermaid:
Here is a glimpse into her magical ice castle kingdom.
Yes...
Santa even knows where mermaids are on Christmas Eve!!!
Hubby had cut out a project and came in with a 8"x24" piece of oddly carved board thinking I might want to use it. I immediately could see snowy ice caps and icy water for a mermaid!!!
Out came the DecoArt Media Black Gesso.
Adding a bit of water and ice!!
Using some tissue paper and Decou-page an ice arch for the mermaid was created. Also easily done with modelling paste but I was in the mood to play a bit with paper!!
Stars and galaxies form in the night sky with paint, lustre and glitter!
Playing with DecoArt's wonderful Snow Writer.
Out comes one of my favorite products: Crackle Glaze which was generously painted over the entire piece.
As you can see in the photo - Carbon Black Antiquing Cream was painted over the entire project. After it dried, it was wiped off to reveal the cracks and crevices in the icy scene.
More Metallic Lustre for the almost frozen water.
Liquid Glass is perfect for icy landscapes and of course, one needs lots of Glamour Dust glitter paint for a magical kingdom.
DecoArt and DecoArt Media Products Used:
Definitely not ready for Christmas yet but it was fun to make a fairy tale home for this Christmas Eve Mermaid. Xj.
