Easter Lily on Pink with Elegant Writer

Howdy from the ranch!
Here's another Easter Lily done with a pink background this time.
Just for fun, I sketched this with my Elegant Writer pen!

The pencil sketch. This is on an 8 x 10 canvas.

Then drew over the pencil with my Elegant Writer pen.

With the Elegant Writer - when you add water - the ink turns various shades of pink and blue depending how you blot it.

Here you can see the shades from the pen.
Also began adding some green paint in the center.

Once satisfied with the Lily I began the background.

Using DecoArt Americana Carousel Pink Acrylic Paint mixed with DecoArt Media White Tinting Base... created a lovely pastel pink.  Adding Kosher salt to the paint while wet works well to make a chalky type finish for the background.

After dry, brush off the salt and you have a texture background!

Thanks bunches for taking time to chat!!
I so love it when you do!
Hugs. j.

Wow Joi, you blow me away every time! What a gorgeous painting!! That flower is completely dreamy, I am always so impressed when I see that you drew things by hand. If I tried that it would be a stick figure painting!! HA! I really love the textured pink background too, what a perfect shade to show off all the stunning shadings in your white flower! Simply gorgeous my friend. happy weekend :)

Beatiful, Joi! The salt texture you used in the background is very effective. I love that you left the background that beautiful soft pink color. Your lily is so pretty. That Elegant Writer pen is very cool. I've not heard of it before. Love your art! :)

Gorgeous! Soft petals and soft pink background. Ahhhh! I always learn something new when I visit here. Now I know what an Elegant Writer is and it isn't just black ink. That's awesome sauce and spectacular! The real stunner is, of course, that wonderful lilly! Wowzers! Hugz! ~Niki

Beautiful! Love the gentle colour, everything about it is beautiful Joi. I am a wee bit confused about the salt though - you add salt to the acrylic paint to make it chalky? I really hope that works because I love chalk paint but I have a load of other acrylic paint to use up a lot first Karen xx
