There is ALWAYS a plan! RIGHT??!!!

THERE IS ALWAYS A PLAN....
NOPE... not always!!!

I don't have a plan to fix todays Ahhh Ohhh moment!!!

HELLO all my little art makers... AND...
HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Believing it will be a year filled with "favor" for you!

Today... I have to admit defeat!!!
But don't worry... I'm not upset... just learning acceptance.

I absolutely LOVE all of the folks associated with:
Anything But Cute Challenge.

From the very beginning of my creative journey... it has been members of that group and some of their friends that have encouraged and inspired me bunches and bunches.

So.... I love participating in their challenges.  OH YEAH!!

But this time... I tripped on the finish line!!!
Yes... I know... excuses, excuses, excuses.  And you are so right.
Nevertheless....  Heheheheh... here I go with mine!!!
Why? Because even though I have had this "happy mail" done for awhile... I had decided not blog anything and just let the challenge go by without any artwork from me.  BUT.... then I felt like I wanted them to know that I really did think about the challenge!!

First of all, I should tell you that I have only ever sent out one Happy Mail... and I had no clue what I was doing so the poor person that got it had to have wondered what on earth was going on!  I didn't decorate the envelope at all and what I put inside - ugh.

Since then I have received three Happy Mail envelopes... so I have a little better understanding of the goodies that should be given!

Sooooooooooooo.....

Here are the instructions for the ANYTHING BUT CUTE
"You've Got Happy Mail"... challenge:
Niki writes....

For this challenge I would love to see some mixed media Christmas cards, tags, ATC's or whatever papercrafts you are mailing to a friend.  Make sure they are inspired by the Spirit of the Season!

You KNOW how they say... if all else fails read the instructions????  Um hum..... well... I did but I didn't. :)

So in my head... I thought - oh... it needs to be small... immediately thinking I could use a small/tiny canvas.  I had never done a tiny canvas before so that sounded like a good challenge for me!

WRONG.... Joi - Joi - Joi... READ... you silly goose.  One would never know that I have a Master's Degree... errrrrrrrrrrrr.

It says..... PAPERCRAFTS.... cards, tags, ATC, or papercrafts. And then... it says.... inspired by the SPIRIT OF THE SEASON - OOPS!!!!!

Here is my project without many pictures due to total brain malfunctions.....heheheheh....

Oh and I even left the Ranger Library Green Archival Ink out of the picture too. That's what I used for the sentiment stamp.

ERrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - so now you know why I tripped on the finish line.  It's light and flat and makes great Happy Mail... it's just not "Papercrafts" or in the "Spirit of the Season"!!

But hey... at least I "did" something and was challenged to do a tiny canvas for the first time so it's all GREAT!!

Now PLEASE KNOW... I am smiling... hope you are too. :)

Upwards and onwards to the next challenge...
and YES - YES - YES... I will read ALLLL the instructions!!!
Well.... hopefully!!!  Heheheheheh!!!
Hugs. j.

It's lovely when there's a challenge we feel loyal to, and love the DT for - but you're still allowed the freedom to create what feels right without having to play to a challenge theme - and I don't think you should beat yourself up about it!! It's a fab, bright and breezy make, just right for the start of a new year.

I just had the best time reading this post. So glad you created something even if you felt you tripped. The outcome is great - love the stencil and the sentiment. BTW, I make cards all the time and not only do I not decorate the envelope, I frequently don't decorate the inside of the card but just add a quote or verse so sure hope that doesn't make me bad :) Thanks for joining our challenge at Anything But Cute.
Hugs!

Good grief Joi, this is just about the most fun I've had in a coon's age!! I just love your post, your sense of humour and your determination!! I think we have all been guilty of not fully reading or understanding a challenge's rules or description, but I have to say I probably would have given up. I am so glad you didn't, because I absolutely adore your little canvas!! I thank you so much for your kind words and for your support and I so enjoy seeing your work, so I'm glad you joined in with this beauty, rules be darned!

For the record, I do not decorate envelopes or the inside of the cards either. A sentiment and that's about it.

I really do hope you had a wonderful holiday season, and I can't wait to see more of your work in 2016! Thank you so much for joining us at Anything But Cute for our 'You've Got Happy Mail' challenge! You made my day with this post Joi! Hugs, Pamellia DT :)

Well, sometimes I don't really read the fine details of a challenge too...especially when they are long! lol
I think the finished product is lovely and would make the recipient happy. LOVE the yellow and green combo.:)
Happy 2016 my friend!

Joi, I am such a rule abider, but even when I scour the rules, I screw up! I was so happy to see your canvas at Anything But Cute, and I really did have a good laugh at your text! Please keep on doing what you are doing, because you are FANTASTIC in so many ways, and you bring "joy" to my day! And now I see I am not the only one who doesn't decorate the inside of my cards...why should I; I just decorated the outside!!!! Love and hugs!

Hahaha! Joi, you have me really LOL with this post! I have been guilty of the same thing and not entirely readihn challenge posts, or sometimes even having the rules be different than their FAQ rule page. I am jus so thankful you continued and completed your design. This post wouldn't exists without it! You have been (and will continue to be) such an inspiration and so loyal to Anything But Cute and we just adore you! Fantabulous canvas!

I have never decorated an envelope and only put a stamped sentiment on the inside of cards. :) Hehe!

Thanks for joining in with us at Anything But Cute as well! Hugz!
