Santa Says...Shop Til You Drop
It's Christmas in July
Mrs. Claus hits the mall
Thinking Santa gave permission to buy.
Meanwhile Santa relaxes at home
Unaware of his face on sale tags
Imagine his shock from head to toe
When the Mrs. walks in with her bags.

Hello to all!~ and welcome back sweet creative friends.
Today is my second project as a July guest designer for Mixed Media Mojo with their Theme: Christmas, Twist: Santa.
Let me take a moment to thank Maria and her wonderful design team for giving me the opportunity to share my artwork. They are such a sweet group of gals and it's been fun!
Today is Art Journal Monday at Mixed Media Mojo so I had the opportunity to play with a Santa theme in my art journal.
The poem above is an attempt to explain what happened to Mr. and Mrs. Claus when someone stole Santa's identity!!!!!!
You see... Mrs. Claus only bought items with Santa's name tag on them... thinking that he said... shop til you drop... so she did!!!!!!
I began by making a background with distress paint and distress ink. I also used Patti Parrish, Dylusions and Tim Holtz stencils.
Stenciling, drawing, cutting and gluing - creating the characters.
I even decided to use part of a Dylusions stamp to make Mrs Claus a new dress! Everything was painted with Neocolor II and Faber-Castell Pitt Pens and highlighted with Ranger inks.
Decided Mrs. Claus needed some elves to carry her packages too.
Mrs. Claus made sure all of her packages still had Santa's tag on them when she brought them home. They are all attached with string too!
She even sent in Santa's package first - by way of Santa's chief elf... but seeing the shock on Santa's face... he didn't know if he should give it to Santa or not!!
Mrs. Claus was so proud of her new Dylusions dress that she wore it home to be sure she looked really pretty for Santa.
Unfortunately, Santa never saw the dress... since all he could see was the packages and wonder if he had any money left in the bank!
As always... thanks for spending time for me.
Hubby says he feels sorry for Santa and is very glad it's not Christmas in July - ehehehhehe!!!
Big Hugs. j.
